NEW WORKSHOPS IN 2018, DESIGNED BY YOU!
I’ve had a few writers ask me about new workshops for this year. If you’re interested, please let me know which time of the year suits you best, how many sessions you would like & if an East London location would suit you.
Email me with your thoughts at: email@example.com
There are no spaces for women writers to really talk about what gets them. And then write about it. That was the idea behind my Women’s Writing Workshops.
❝ I was inspired to start working on a play that I had been ignoring for months. It made me want to write. Write everything! ❞
– Sarah Flanagan, Writer & Actor
Over a few sessions at Poplar Union in East London, we talked about things that make us rage and chuckle and rant. Here are a few of the topics we wrote about:
✍ The joy of being female
✍ Motherhood & how we feel about it
✍ Body image, media pressure around the female body
✍ Aging & how we feel about it
✍ Periods & the shame around it
We wrote prose. We wrote poetry. We wrote long and short pieces. In short, we wrote our hearts out and shared our innermost thoughts with each other. There were laughs and there were tears, when we read out our pieces of writing to each other in a safe and supportive environment.
Our sessions were so good that we even had a lovely older gentleman join in:)
I plan on running more writing workshops for women in 2018. Do get in touch if you’d like to find out more.
